Low Frequency Range

Characteristics

Characteristics
  • Easy to use
  • Operation frequencies between 120  to 134 kHz  (long wave)
  • The magnetic field produces a defined homogeneous read zone.
  • The field falls off quickly which limits the read range
  • LF radio waves pass through most materials besides metal with almost no reduction in read range.
  • LF works in water – and underwater
  • Relatively slow data rates
  • In most systems multiple tags can only be read one after the other
  • Tag prices are slightly higher, mainly due to antenna size
