Poing, Munich: EBV Elektronik, an Avnet (NYSE:AVT) Company, has been awarded 2nd place out of 111 products for its “FalconEye” reference design.  FalconEye was selected as the readers’ choice of “Product of the Year 2008” organised by the German magazine, Elektronik. The prize was presented at an awards ceremony held in the middle of March.

The FalconEye complete reference solution for controlling brushless motors was developed by EBV Elektronik in conjunction with its manufacturing partners Avago Technologies, Fairchild Semiconductor, Freescale Semiconductor and STMicroelectronics.

FalconEye is designed to provide optimum support to development engineers and contains the full range of electronics required for controlling a brushless motor and even includes the relevant software. Developers can use FalconEye during their development process and will receive, on request, the design documentation for incorporating the board directly into their design. The relevant applications can range from white goods to medical technology to robotic control in the industrial market.
