
DBMAXLED
LED Drive Reference Board
The DBMAXLED Board is designed to show that one single Altera® CPLD can drive a huge amount of PWM Channels. The Reference Design uses one PWM output for each LED Color, so 3 PWM Outputs are required for one RGB-LED.
This Reference Board is equipped with an array of 5x5 LEDs, in total 75 PWM channels to control the entire colour range. For LED control, the DBMAXLED board uses a MAX® II EPM1270 CPLD that provides 1270 logic elements. A "rainbow" reference design is available and can be used for custom applications. The EPM1270 can be programmed wia the JTAG interface. For communication tasks with masters or with other DBMAXLED boards, two RS485 interfaces are available.
