Built around Avago Technologies’ innovative reflective optical technology, the AMRX series is one of the world’s slimmest scrollwheel modules with an integrated 5-way switch.

Product designers looking to build ever thinner and smaller handheld devices will appreciate the space savings available with the 1.9 mm height profile of the AMRX series.

At just 18.5 mm diameter, the AMRX series is a scrollwheel in module form, integrated with four directional switches, one centre selection push button and a built-in illumination ring. It simplifies continuous scrolling and navigation of long lists of menus using one hand only.

It also provides an intuitive interface for controls such as zooming or speed control and is one of most familiar user interfaces to navigate menus, make selections and change values in many different products.

The AMRX series scrollwheel provides a 2-channel quadrature output, with 45 cycles per revolution (CPR) resolution. It operates from a single 2.4...3.3V supply and provides a single-ended 1.8/3.3V TTL/CMOS-logic-compatible output.

It is easy to assemble, featuring plug-and-play connectivity and requires no signal adjustment. To maximize battery life, the device has a power-down mode which draws only 4 µA. The AMRX series is RoHS-compliant and lead-free.
The AMRX series scrollwheel also provides customizable aesthetic design with choices of colour, finish, material and illumination colour to enhance the overall look and feel.
