The Freescale i.MX31 applications processor is the ideal solution for embedded applications in the consumer, industrial and medical markets. The i.MX31 features almost every peripheral unit that a multimedia designer could dream of. 

Typical applications include kiosk terminals, image processing applications, IP surveillance cameras, and secure real-time embedded control applications - in fact, any device where power consumption is a challenge will benefit from this processor that combines low power consumption and high performance.

Based on a standard ARM1136 core, the i.MX31 processor includes leading power management, security features and extensive connectivity capabilities.  Value-added features are accessible to the developer through easy-to-use programming interfaces (API), and the processor is designed with Freescale's Smart Speed Technology to enable ultra low power consumption with performance equivalent to desktop computing processors.

A wide range of operating systems is supported, including Microsoft WindowsCE.net and eLinux.
