The ISL8014 is a 4 A PWM controller with integrated MOSFETs. Thanks to its two low-resistance power switches, efficiency is specified as up to 97 %. The switchable PWM/PFM mode throttles the otherwise typical 1 MHz switching frequency even in standby mode, so the closed-circuit current is just 35 μA. When switched off, the output is discharged and the module needs less than 1 μA. Other integrated functions include a Power-Good output, internal compensation, a current limiter, soft-start and an overheating cutout. The external synchronisability of up to 4 MHz offers advantages for some applications. Typical areas of application are in components such as FPGAs, uCs and DSPs with operating voltages of 0.8 V or higher. |
