With the introduction of the latest generation of strip-based PowerMESHâ„¢ IGBTs, ST has expanded its product offer for a very large variety of applications including white goods, PDP, automobile electronic ignition, motor drive, light dimmers, induction cookers, high frequency electronic ballasts, HID drivers, UPS and welding equipment.


The ultrafast "W" series addresses UPS, high-end induction cooker and welding applications, whereas the new 1200 V products are intended for industrial drives and induction cookers with single-switch topology.

The innovative IGBT-switch technology leads the lighting market and is particularly suited to the ever-growing market of high-frequency ballasts. Silicon innovation is resulting in new intelligent power modules (IPM).
