VN4140K Quad High-Side Driver

  

  

 
The VNI4140K is a monolithic device based on VIPower technology. The device is able to drive four independent loads with one side connected to ground. These loads may be resistive or inductive. In case of a load short-circuit the active current limitation avoids drops in the system power supply. Built-in thermal shut-down protects the device from over temperature and short-circuit conditions. When an overload occurs, the channel turns off and back on automatically in order to prevent over temperature damage. If this fault condition persists, the overloaded channel is turned off and will restart only when case temperature has decreased down to a certain level.

Applications

IPS devices integrate a logic interface, drivers and protection circuits on the same chip as a power stage, to simplify system design and  save space in industrial applications such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, robotics and building automation systems. However, it can easily be employed in applications where low voltage smart power solid state relays are needed.
